Does anyone know a good place near Dayton, OH where you can get stuff sandblasted? Also, is it possible to get the underside of the car sandblasted while it is all together? It's not painted or anything so I'm not worried about the finish getting messed up, but the undercoating/tar is still on the bottom and I'd like to get that removed so I can prep it and then POR-15 the whole underside for a nicer and stronger finish. And I would rather not live under the car with a putty knife and heat gun trying to get the stuff off (if that would even work on this stuff, I dont know). Thanks!

sandblasting will just push the undercoating around, and will not take it off to affectively.
i spent 61 hours with a heatgun, putty knife, solvint, rags and toothbrush to get mine off. end result after painting with DP90 epoxy primer sealer, LOOKS GREAT!!!

Donny, just curious how good of a heat gun you used. Was it a Wagner like they sell at Lowes and such. How many watts was it. Thanks, Cal

Hi, cool another Ohio member! I'm in Springfield.
I use a sand blaster down the road from me outside of New Carlisle, on US Route 40.
He is very reasonable, on cash jobs. I had some inner fenders that were undercoated. I had them blasted and they were so clean they looked like white metal when he was finished.
He does car frames, and big parts all the time.

Well...I used a torch to get my undercoating off and after 6 hrs of heatind scraping wiping I discovered the metal was so dinged, bent and otherwise not going to look good painted..I just sprayed new undercoating on it.
