Has anyone solved the cup holder problem ( lack of ) on a 65 Chevelle? I'm tired of spilling coffee on myself while I shift gears (3 speed on the tree). Thanks

I don't know about a 65 but I tackled the same problem on my 66 SS 396 4-speed car. I am a big time coffee drinker and my morning cruises were being ruined by spilling my coffee. One day I was in Wally World and I found a drink holder that was designed to fit between the seat and the console in most cars. Upon seeing the holder I thought it looked like I could trim the bottom portion off and it would fit in my console.

BINGO! I trimmed and sanded the lower portion off and it fits inside my graemlins/thumbsup.gif 66 console so that I can open the console when I need a place for a drink or if not the lid snaps down to close just like it should.

You can always get a mug (with lid) with a wide base, you can set it on the seat next to you, won't tip over.

I have also seen mugs with a beanbag type base. this one you can set almost anywhere.

Look in any brand name convenience store (Shell, Texaco etc). They usually have a good selection.

Or how about this for 29.00 $, It slips into your factory ashtray opening , and is easily removed for
