well I got my quater panel on took me some time to figure out that it was a lil bit bigger than the original so I had to trim it down .It looks great once I grinded the welds. I used a arc welder to weld it (all I can afford). my question is all I could get is about 5 good tacks on the bottom rear of the Q.P Is this ok? and what can I use to seal the bottom of the panel from water I was thinking of using that expanding foam stuff in the can since my qutar panle extension panel isnt all that stright it was bent up but I strightend out as much as I could. The car will in no mean be as show car its just gonna be a daily driver, also could I use a electric sander the kind that vibrates real fast to sand down some of the filler that I will be applying into my weld seams Im just gonna use it to get every thing close then I will block sand it flat. one more thing do you guys think that crome plated fender extensions will look good

ps I wanna thank all you guys for your help it feels so good looking at the car knowing that I did all the work my self and it looks pretty damn
good (key word pretty)

If you have gaps that are so large that you need expandable foam, you need to get them smaller.

Just spend some time on closing those gaps up, there is no need for something like expandable foam. '

There are a number of seam sealers that will do the job, even with fairly large gaps. Forget the little tubes, get one that you use a "caulking" gun with. Go down to your friendly neighborhood auto body supply store and they will set you up.

Be sure to trial fit your parts like the decklid and those quarter extensions. Fit them real nice BEFORE any primer or paint work.

As for chroming quarter extensions........um.......don't take this the wrong way but that sucks. I mean SUCKS. That is opinion of course, but you asked.

The quarter extension is just that an extension of the quarter panel, the designers wanted it to "flow". Chrome plating them is like putting a Jay Lenos head on a beautiful womans body, it ruins the lines.

Save the money you would use to chrome them and buy a tool or two. The money spent on a new sander or something like that would me much more wise.

Again, it is only my opinion.
