I just recieved a new black on chrome plastic dash bezel from Year One. My original bezel is metal and has a walnut trim. I thought that someone put the walnut trim on it but, after removing the original bezel, it appears that the walnut trim came from the factory that made the bezel. It is thick and is molded perfectly into place and stamped.

Is it possible that there was a wood grained dash bezel from the factory? I have a 67 SS with factory guages. I am going back to the black bezel but this is a very interesting development.

Thanks
Chuck

chuck I posted bout this here bout 2 years ago,my 67 chevelle has a walnut dash panel, not correct for an ss,but I got every thing else ss,like the right frame #,the extra contol arm supports, vin ,ect, ect, ect, every thing is ss 67 chevelle ,all but the woodgrain dash!,someone replyed to me back then that the factory may have run out of the black strips that day,and just used the walnut grained malibu strips, couldnt stop production just for dash strips--might be true with yours, maybe our chevelles were real close in the assembly line that day, same plant. mine was built in baltimore--67rat

OK, that's what I was try to get at. If the Malibu was wood grain, then it is likely that someone replaced the dash strip with a Malibu strip. It seems that the SS IS black though. I am going back to the correct dash strip.
