Does anybody have any information on the RPO Hurst shifters?

I have one for a Saginaw that I inherited (seems like an oddball, for a Saginaw) ... but I'm wondering if I can modify this thing to fit a Muncie w/console? At least the shifter handle.

Also any ideas on how to make the original clip retainer fit a newer style bolt-on handle?

Anybody know, was the slider plate removed for this shifter ... and what shifter boot was used? Any suggestions for a replacement shifter boot?

I have looked at so many cars, and have never seen a "round handle" original Hurst style in any. I think they're a pretty slick deal, with the round handle (instead of rect.) and Hurst embossed on the side. Definitely a touch of something different.

Does anybody here know much about them?

Thanks, Neal

Our '72 Lemans Sport has its original round shaft Hurst Shifter. These factory installed shifters don't have the front and back stop bolts like the ones from the speed shop. Unfortunately Chevy wouldn't spend the extra money on the Chevelle line. Our '69 Chevelle has a Hurst shifter with a Muncie handle adapted to it. Looks good and works great.
