Just ran across a 68 malibu. It is owned by an old man that is the original owner. It has 48000 original miles! Some body work needed. The bad part is it has a 6 cylinder with a column shift. Gold interior. The man has all the paperwork manual ect. He's asking $2500 I may be able to get him down. To buy and sell is it worth it?

Any input would be great guys.
Thanks Marc

how much $$$ do you need to make to have it be "worth it". Everybody is different in that regard. Some people would buy it, spend a month of saturday's on it, have a dozen tire kicker's work them over on it, sell it for $500 profit and start thinking maybe they should quit their day job. Others might need to do much better to have it "worth it". I can tell you I saw a 70 malibu at spring Carlisle that was a numbers match original owner car with a 6 in it. The body appeared very solid with old faded paint. they wanted 8000 for it.

As long as its a complete car, and its not all rotted out in the floors and truck, 2500 is a good price for long Island. Don't worry about the six, replacing the drivetrain is alot easier than repairing loads of rust.

I have a 68 307, w/ 20,000 miles if you want to do a quick budget swap.

Well I would just buy it to sell it so the whole engine swap is out. I figured if I made a little money on this thats just more towards my 70 I want. Where is a good place to get value prices? I'm just wondering how many people would want an original 6! Or how much would people spend to buy it for a build.

Thanks guys.
