Is it possible to install the rear outer wheel housing without removing the quarter panel?

Thanks!
Mike

Mike,I had the same problem, and I found the only way to get the outer wheelwell in was to cut it.I made 2 pieces out of it then put it in and welded it together. The biggest problem is geting to the pinch welds that hold the inner and outer together. My solution to this was to leave the pinch weld alone ,and cut the new panel to butt up against the bottom of the pinch weld. Then I welded it in.Hope this helps you.

Mike, just did the same thing that Ricky described, cut in half and weld in, it worked pretty good.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Ricky, I see what you mean about the pinch weld. Did you cut out the old housing along the seam?

Mike,I left a half inch of metal along the whole bottom of the pinch weld. This gives you enough metal to overlap the new one,so that you have something to weld to.Seeing your using the old pinch weld cut that part off the new one.If you look at it from the bottom,Where the seam is mark a line 1/2" from the seam on the old outer wheelhouse.Thats where you would make your cut. When you done cutting you should only have a 1/2" of the old one still atached to the bottom of the pinch weld.
