: Someone posted about an aftermarket bench seat...
SNFU Mobile Jan 14th, 04, 2:10 AM And the thing looked cool as hell, I think it was about $1000 for the complete setup.
Unfortunately, I lost the link. Does anyone seem to remember it, or know where I can find it? It was a new tubular bench seat frame, the foam, and the covers.
Thanks!
SNFU Mobile Jan 14th, 04, 2:17 AM Oops - found it, it was from Glide Engineering - glideng.com!
cjlandry Jan 14th, 04, 9:27 AM Those aren't bad! Thanks for the link. Here's another one for anyone else who's interested:
http://www.glideeng.com/products.htm
The Chevelle and El Camino link is near the bottom of the list on that page.
SNFU Mobile Jan 14th, 04, 11:02 AM Also, if you check out the bucket seats and mounting tracks they have available, it looks like a pretty sweet setup.
I think in the next couple of months, I will give the bucket seats a try, along with the shoulder style seatbelts from www.julianos.com (http://www.julianos.com)
Should be a pretty cool setup - especially since my driver is nowhere near stock.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
Her Malibu Jan 14th, 04, 11:20 AM there is an article on glide in "chevelle winter 2003" magizine. check it out
Clint44 Jan 14th, 04, 11:40 PM This is the company I've been talking to about a custom bench seat for my 69 El Camino. Their seat are built in Ft.Worth,Tx and cost is much less than Glide Eng.

SNFU Mobile Jan 15th, 04, 12:52 PM They don't have any prices listed on their site - about how much are they quoting you for a seat?
BlazingChevhell Jan 16th, 04, 6:52 PM Why dont these manufacturers make bucket seats? I found two buckets on ebay, but they arent Chevelle seats. They look like buick seats Are all A-body buckets the same for 70?
4MyChevelles Jan 17th, 04, 12:11 AM are you looking for bucket seats ? I have a pair i can let go either recovered or in need of.... your choice.
make me an offer original in need of covers , complete with tracks and nice head rest's
SNFU Mobile Jan 17th, 04, 1:49 PM Thanks man, but when I change out the seats, I want to upgrade to something more modern - I did see a set of '03 Tahoe front buckets that I believe I can get to mount in the Elky - should be an interesting fit. Thanks though!
