Cant believe the I found a jewel in the rough. 2 years ago I found a 71 chevelle sitting in a field. for 2 years I hounded the guy who wanted 4000 for a malibu 350/350 function cowl hood and SS emblems. yesterday he cracked. 600 brought it home and found it to be a numbers matching heavy chevy, corvette 8 inch ralleys 12 bolt posi and in good shape, charged the battery and off we go. any sugestions whats it worth

Rob,
How do you know it is a Heavy Chevy ?? Do you have the build sheet showing the YF3 Heavy Chevy option ? Almost sounds to me like there is a better chance that it is an SS rather than a "Heavy" I do not think you could get the functioning cowl hood with a small block, but I could be wrong on that one. The Heavy door panels are one of a kind with a long straight 1" wide white stripe from front to back. Any sign of the Heavy Chevy decals on the body ?

thanks for the replys. Its is a malibu no question. Looking for the build sheet. The car was repainted black over green, the hood is from a red SS. The interior is nice but someone recoved the seats and door panels with cloth thier are heavy chevy decals on both fenders but they were painted over. some one tell me how to post a few pics and I will

A quick check of the VIN will tell if it could be a Heavy or not.
Heavy's were built on a base line Chevelle, VIN 13437. Whereas the SS was built on a Malibu with a VIN 13637.
Still with out the build sheet, previous owners could have put anything on it they liked.
