We put the doors back on the 70 last night and the car is finally starting to go back together! What a great feeling afer taking all the body panels off and stripping them to bare metal. the body has been bolcked out 5 times and its perfect! My bodyman wants to leave the last coat of primer settle for a couple of weeks before we roll it into the booth. Is this necessary or can I do the final 600 sanding and paint it next week?

It really isn't nessisary to wait that long. BUT, do as your painter is telling you. It certainly won't hurt anything and he is "doing" the job so is should be done his way.

I agree with Martin. I would wait as long as possible to make sure of total cure. Would be great if you could roll the car out in the sun for a while if your climate permits.

Also agree with Martin and Gordon. Urethane primers shrink as they cure and the longer you wait the better. I try to wait a week before sanding the last primer coat before paint. Most importantly let the painter do as he is most comfortable with...Eric
