How saw it and what did they hink? Also, the air bubble that was trapped in the cooling, ia that a common problem and how do you get rid of them without a coolant vacuum?

Initially filling the block before installing the thermostat and housing is the best way to avoid an air pocket. Just pour into the opening in the manifold until full and then install the stat and housing...

The show was a re-run and IMO the rotor was left out as part of the hollywood drama!! I wonder how the guy that commisioned that car felt after paying more for the rush job and hearing how the cars quality suffered from the folks building it...

I would just like to have the money spent on the freight charges from australia. you could build a pretty good rod from that.
as far as a car show goes it was pretty weak. i hope it gets better with experience.
maybe he will stop hamming it up for the tv.
then they could show the real building of a car.

I'd say some of the bitching and raising hell might be for TV but before I opened up my own shop I worked for a guy that was as bad as Paul sr. or any of the ones you see on TV and there was no camara's around him. Thats one of the main reasons I dont work for him anymore, plus the pay sucked.Id say some of the hell raising isnt really put on.Who knows though.

I liked the part when the kid was going to do the jump and was stopped by Boyd. It reminded me of my construction crew and the idiot stunts they used to pull... Then I took a nap....and woke up after the closing scene...then I had a snack and went to bed.

The show was horrible. Boyd is made out to be an anal retentive jerk, his crew were made out to be slackers, and the show was just not interesting. I will give it a few more looks before I stop watching it though because it has potential. There is enough drama on tv. I want to see how they are keeping a cutting edge on hotrodding, not how whiny they can be in front of a camera. And why is it that boyd never had a wrench in his hand? Guess he is just a businessman now......

yes, I agree with some of this. However, in my opinion there aren't enough shows building cars. Aside from powerblock on Spike, thers no other really good car shows on a regular basis. Lets not be too hard yet.

I put very small holes in the thermostat. Nice to hear the engine burping little bubbles when you fill it. Oh, the show, dont watch much TV.

The show may not be that great yet but I'd rather be watching that, or any other car-motorcycle related show than some crappy home makeover show...

I was not impressd the first time, the other car show, Rides is better and worse at the same time. American Hot Rods are NOT built with foregin bodies! WHy the heck didn't they just order from a US manufaturer? Plus that Superman theme was STUPID! JMHO!

Also it was a FORD! Yikes! Oh well, at least it wasen't a 4G63 right? The rest of the cars seen around the shop didn't give me hope for the future of the show. They really looked the same or were takeoff of the same old 32 Ford coupe.

Why not just build kit Ferraris and Lambos? Speaking of Lambos, I got to check a Murcealago out last week. Ever try to get into a tuna can? I have gotten into stock cars easier!

Leave out the drama, or just have Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny Build the car!At least that would be fun to watch instead of the Staged drama."Sufferin sucatash you left out the Wotor you Silly Wabbit!"
