I have a 72 SS ElCamino with a build sheet, It came with round gauges, but my build sheet does not have the rpo for gauges on it ,meaning I have an SS with a sweep dash from the factory.that the p.o. put gauges in. Is this right?

No, It means that it had the round pods without the gauge package.
No SS cars came with sweep style dash.

all SS cars came with SS dashes not sweep dashes the gauges were optional U14, standard SS dashes came with warning lights

I have been told the pod dash is out of a monte, because it has slots by the top a/c vent. and and no seat belt warning light by the cig lighter.

All the 72 models should have the seat belt warning light by the lighter. It doesn't mean that your camino is not an SS, but it also doesn't mean that it is.

I know its an SS because I have the build sheet with rpo B94-tail gate emblem SS, and rpo Z15-SS eqp pkg.
Does any one have a build sheet for a car with idiot lights?

Does box 84 show GE?
Also Box 86 should show *** on your 1972 Buildsheet.
Roughly that means no Tach, but Idiot lights,& No Gauges from the factory Originally.

where can I find the date the car was built? the only place I see a date on the build sheet is by the dealers name and iI assume its a delivery date box(s) 112-06, 113-02, 114-black smudge. will the date be on my trim tag? or will i at least be able to narrow it down?

Top Left.
Box 10 is the assemble date.
What does it show?
should look something like 03 05-03

Your buildsheet is saying the same as the other 72's I have here.No gauges, built with idiot lights.
To find your build date.
Look on your cowl tag, bottom line.Look for something like 05C.
That decodes as 5th month, meaning May.
C means week,so 3rd week.
Or just relay your entire VIN#(email if you prefer) and I can look it up in the book of Plants I have here.

A 1972 GE dash cluster code is:
*Big Gas Gauge on the left
*Speedometer w/column shift indicator
*Blank area w/Lens provision for clock stem.

Seatbelt warning lite. Did the 69 SS have an option for a seatbelt warning lite? I have a red light near my lighter or was that for something else. Whatever it is it does not light up now. tell me what it is before I decide to take it apart and break it:))
