I'll be getting my factory SS wheels blasted and I will be painting using the "Details" brand of paints (charcoal and silver) from Ground Up. What type of primer should I use for this that will work well with the Details paint and where is a good place to find it? Thanks in advance!

There is a great article on how to restore these wheels in the Jan/Feb99 of Chevelle World. Unfortunately, I live in Italy and all my Chevelle World from that year are still back in the states. One thing I did was to use the stencils and that was a mistake. They are a real pain. Rich R. also used them and he also agrees. The best thing to do is to paint them grey and wait a day for them to dry. Then use painters tape. This tape is not too sticky. Cover the gray part and then with an exacto knife go along the ridge of the black part to expose it. Then apply the black. It should turn out perfect. I don't know if the primer was Krylon rust proof that the article called for. My wheels have been painted for 4 years now and they look new.
Sorry for not been able to add more info.
You may want to get Rich R. email as he did his wheels a few months back. He goes by, "richr."
