i have a 71 malibu dark green with dark green interior and i have always liked that burnt orange or copper bronze color they had in either 70 or 71 on the chevelles and malibus i think my next one will be that color!! any way dose anyone know the real GM name for that color??? i was told it was burnt or brunt graemlins/clonk.gif orange is that true??? thanx Tony

tony r -- My '71 Chevelle was the color "burnt orange", code 62 and a white top. For some reason I just didn't like the color. I changed the car's color to a GM blue (don't remember the code) and then to cranberry red. Been that way for over 6 years now.

There's also a code 67 Aztec Bronze.

The 72 in my sig, is paint code 65 Orange flame.

Are you talkin about a newer color like the Orange/bronze color on some of the Prowlers.

I'm looking at the new Pontiac Fusion Orange Metallic for mine. Ford and Chrysler offer a similar color too.

Burnt orange metallic code 62. There's a pic. in my signiture on the "others past and present" page.
I the sun it's the true orange, at night in poor lighting it could pass for the bronze. They are both very close, one is more orange, the other slightly brown.

My '72 is Mohave Gold . . . in high school a friend refered to the color as baby ***** brown, she thought it was funny.
