Does the original top boot for a 66 malibu have clips or snaps to attach to the molding..Mine has snaps but i can't find a repro with snaps..

The only factory ones I have seen have the clips that clip over the rear trim... I have only seen snaps on replacements...

The original top boot, as far as I am aware, clips over the rear top well molding, it does not snap at this location. The only snaps are at each end where the top boot snaps onto the interior panels that cover the top mechanism -- I think there are two snaps on each side. :D

I have the original boot on my 66 Malibu

It has about 10 white plastic pieces attached to the vinyl - you clip/snap these on to the chrome moulding on the car
