With all of these BADAS Car pics being posted, Is there a to save them to be used as wallpaper for later?

I save the pictures, but when I recall them I can't do the wallpaper thing with them.

Any ideas or programs available?

Thanks

With Windows right click the image and a menu comes down. "Save picture as" select and the save as window appears . select the location to save the image to, I save all pictures in a Chevelle folder I created. I save as .jpg file.
Later you can right click anywher on your desktop(screen) and chose properties. Window pops up. Chose back ground, wallpaper. If you can not see any of your saved files brows to the folder you saved to.

Cool. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks Lou

With your assistance, I kinda found a roundabout way to do it.
I open the pic. gallery, right click the discription and the box opens. click open then the pic appears on an IE screen, then I do it normal.
On my computer, when I clicked properties, I only got when I saved it info.

Some day I will learn how to type a letter and save it, on this here computer without using the email to send it to my self

Thanks again.

Why not just right click on the oicture and choose "save as wallpaper." That's what I just did.

If you want to save it and use it later as a windows wallpaper, the formate of the picture must be ".bmp" or bitmap. and not ".jpg" J-Peg.

So you'll need some kinda photo editor that can open up a .jpeg and save it as .bmp . You can even alter it's size and such.

Simply doing a right click and 'set picture as wallpaper' nefer really gives and ideal sizing.

At LAST, something I know SOMETHING about!

Right click an image, save as wallpaper.
Go via Explorer to windows folder, and look for
"Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp" rename it as chevelle?.bmp, then like I have any number of wallpapers to choose from. It's WAY harder to go from jpg to bmp, but I can do that too.

Hope you understood that. I have but NEVER use Netscape too. Same rules apply I think.

I guess no one is going to answer your question ChicagoChevelle68 so I'll give it a try.

First of all the image needs to be stored on a server somewhere on the web.
There are several free web space providers such as Yahoo/geocities, Tripod & angelfire that you can upload your images too.

To post an image here you need to use the UBB " & " tags (it dsen't matter if you use upper or lower case) with the URL address in between the opening and closing tags.

Or to make a clickable link to an image (such as in your signiture) You use the " & " tags with the URL address in between the opening and closing tags.

Images are not allowed in some forums and only a link to the image is allowed in your signiture.

Just one of the many perks for paid Team Chevelle members is images can be stored on this site in the Showroom (with no banners or advertisements) with a very easy upload process.

Upload to showroom (http://www.chevelles.com/members/showroom.html)

If you click on the pencil on other posts, you can see how they did it

Dean baby,

Thank you for the time to explain posting of images. But.....I did try what you recommend, the - . Does it need to be just of a single image? I think my error was that the [img] pertained to a page with multiple images on my web site, (Please see "1:64 scale model", posting for my goof. Thanks again for your wisdom.

Joe, yes the URL address must point to a single image to post an image

the [url] tag is for an address of a page with multi images

click on the pencil above.

Dean,

The Blue '69 Chevelle you posted is the perfect color that I am seeking for mine. Could you tell me more about the paint and prep for it? Thanks!

It is the original color - code 71, Lamans blue
Actually the car looks a different color in the picture to me, also looks much better in the picture than it does in real life
I made the sad mistake of putting on single stage Laquer with clear coat over it.
Laquer is too hard and brittle and chips very bad.

read all about it (http://macc.chevelles.net/index3.htm)
