I build my own custom design street car performance ignition systems for a living, advise at least ten professional NHRA racers in all areas of nitro racing.

That's a lot of accomplishments in only one year. Yep, I don't procrastinate at all. No time wasting here boys. Seriously, I love my wife very much and very exited that I will be a father in July. I work at Utah Federal Credit Union as the Assistant Manager. I've been employed for 3.5 years and still enjoy my job. I hope I don't get fired soon because this would be a really bad time. I owned a 71 velle back in 98 for about a year. Later, it was hit hard in an auto accident and now I am the proud owner of a 70 velle. Just could'nt be without one. I love working on it and should be terrorizing the neighborhood this summer. I also have my eye on a 69 El Camino, but don't tell the wife that.... http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
I'm 34 yrs old, married for almost 10yrs to my high school sweatheart. No dependents yet, but one on the way (due in September). I have a BSME from Northeastern U. and work as a packaging/assembly engineer at and electronics company.
Vampyro Mar 15th, 00, 10:42 AM I'm 17 and I had the privelege of performing a frame off resto on my 70 Chev SS at such a young age. I know that when I get as old as most of you guys I'll know even more about these cars that rule the streets thanks to everyone here!

I've been in law enforcement for 24 years (Has it been that long?) My first 13 were on the street, now I'm part of the Administrative Services Bureau. (reads; I don't write tickets anymore) Traded a '72 Elky for my '67 Malibu plus some goodies, and have been working on it forever. Well, maybe just 2 years. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Problem is, with 3 in college, there's more time than money for dad's toys. But it runs now, and I can drive it, so making it pretty is the next goal. Have loved Chevys all my life...got a 283 block with 2 bushel baskets full of engine parts for my 9th birthday. Went for schooling in mechanics but life wouldn't allow it, so I use it for sanity reasons, though most of you guys probably forgot more than I can remember. One day I was gassing up my Elcamino when a couple of kids drove up and piled out of their car. They walked all around my car oooohing and aaaaahing. It had a fresh paint job 3 months prior. One of the kids asked if I bought it new http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif Grinning and without hesitation I said "Yip! I bought it when I was 12 years old." http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/tongue.gif he kept on looking around the Elcamino without giving it a second thought until it clicked over in his buddies skull http://www.chevelles.com/forum/redface.gif they left amused and I left happy to know that Chevelles and Elcaminos will close the generation gap faster than anything. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

lindsay Mar 17th, 00, 3:39 AM 28, dad always had street rods and I guess I have always been a car nut. I prefer the muscle cars though. I'm a Tool & die maker. I have a 2 1/2 year old son, named him Jake, something not so girlish like dad. My wife and son went with me to Wisconsin to buy the 71 when he was 2 weeks old. He relieved himself on her while she was changing his diaper in the car. She will never forget that day. Besides it was bought with bonus money she got from work! Anytime Jake and I go somewhere if it's not in the chevelle he says "no daddy this one". That's my boy!

MikeEC Mar 21st, 00, 6:44 AM Oh Well. Guess it's my turn. I've been around TC since the spring of '98 and there have been similar topics but none have received the responses like this one. The diversity here is truly amazing and it really does my heart good to see so many young people actively participating in here. It is not just the love of Chevelles and Muscle Cars that we all share; there are also common values and beliefs. I'm 51, retired from the Army after Vietnam with a service-connected disability. I am an ex USCG Master (let my license go 3 years ago). I now work for the Navy's Military Sealift Command (the commercial ship Navy). I have 2 children, one son, 21, who is a newly promoted Sgt in the Army (in 3.5 years), and a daughter, 15, who is a real pleasure and in spite of her many chores around the "farm" is doing great in school and wants to be a Vet. They both make me proud. My lovely bride of almost 23 years is my first and my last. She is very supportive of my "Car Nut" bone and can talk hi-performance with the best of them. All I have to do is support her horse. WRT the horse, below is a post I made on June 20, '98
DON'T DO THIS.
Feeling guilty for my excessive spending I was eager to say yes when my wife wanted a horse. (Reasoning was if she has a toy then I can justify my habit and ease my guilty feelings). In the past year and a half this horse thing has had a detrimental effect on my habit/hobby. This horse thing now includes a 31k truck, a 10k trailer, and several k worth of tack and misc. things. The list goes on, not to mention that this thing eats while I sleep. The horse has more clothes than I do. (Read the above as: new Corvette or 70SS LS6 restored Chevelle convertible) The table has turned. I now have to compete for $. If you feel the need to have your other half doing something that will ease the guilt you may be having. I strongly recommend you encourage needlepoint. I must admit though that "Rocky" is a pretty neat guy and we talk about this problem frequently. He doesn't have much to say and only gives me looks as if to say "well you bought into this and now you've got to deal with it cause I'm not going anywhere".
For all that have joined TC since I made this post I thought you might like to read and heed (just for fun). BTW the one horse has now grown to two (more competition for $).

I am single forever now (never married), with few friends. I don't have any kids yet, but have a collection of classic auto parts. To this day, I never dated or asked anyone out, since it's a dangerous game. Always wanted a tall blonde with a full figure of an exotic dancer, but gave up on dating 14 years ago. I always "play with the cat" instead of having a woman of my own, and this would be my entrepreneurship and online authoring of my pages.

I have a 430hp (now) daily driver 70 Chevelle Malibu that my father bought brand new as a 350/250hp model with 350Turbo, column shifter, and bench seat. (NO options whatsoever!)
I also have a 66 Chevelle Malibu that I bought about 2 1/2 years ago, originally a straight 6 car. Now it has an LS-3 396/402 with a 400Turbo. Body is very straight with very minimal rust and has what I believe is the original Regal Red paint with black interior. (swivel bucket seats are cool too!) This is currently my project car on the back burner while I get my daily up to street/strip standards.
Bob M Mar 23rd, 00, 2:49 PM I guess it's my turn. Turned 50 last year, been working on cars all my life. Some of the better ones were:
1. 63 Impala SS convertable, red with white top. 327 340HP, 4 speed, black bucket interior, tach in the dash. This was my high school car.
2. 57 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hardtop. 350, 4 speed, butternut yellow with black interior.
3. 68 Camaro RS/SS with Z28 badging. Hot 350, M22 4 speed, 4.10 Posi. Yellow with black vinly top and black Z28 stripes, black bucket interior.
Currently trying to get my 66 Malibu back together. 350, 4 speed, Artesian Turquoise, black bucket interior (Must have something for black interiors).
Married for the third time. Two kids from first marriage, two from second. Now have a loving, understanding wife thats great to my kids, lets me enjoy my hobbies and just wants me to be happy. Now if I could just retire or win the lottery......

I have a BA in English, and work as a free-lance writer when I'm not doing the stay-at-home-dad thing (which is the best job I've ever had or probably will have).
I own a web site (www.classiccarlot.com) that I plan to sell in the next two months. Next year I'll get my single-subject teaching creditial and begin a career in teaching grade school kids.
Oh yeah, I own a restored 1970 "SS" station wagon. (I really get a kick from people asking me if it's a clone! I can truthfully tell them "no" since there was never a factory-built SS Chevelle wagon to clone!)

ColoradoMalibu May 6th, 03, 3:05 AM I'm 45 Married 13 years 6 year old and 8 year old
Got my Chevelle in 1976 ( High School senior year )
Paid $ 1500. Never thought I was getting a car that would hold it's value.
I remember driving it then, seems like it was yesterday.
The car was in new condition. The ride was very nice.
The back seat has "special significance" ;) .
Owned a 64 Olds F85 Cutlass and a 70 Thunderbird (429) previous but really wanted a Chevelle ( my father had a 70 "3 on the tree" I learned to drive in ). 350 stripped but it was peppy.
( threw me across the seat once on a corner, teached me to wear the seatbelt ).
Gas + corner = thrown if not holding tight.
I have always maintained the car in drivable condition. I decided last year to do a restification and make a nice weekend driver.
Did suspension and converted to front disc (stops great now ). Interior is redone. After patching a couple rust holes and painting, I should be pretty darn close.
ColoradoMalibu May 6th, 03, 3:07 AM Forgot to add, I am a Network Engineer for a large software company.
Cable May 7th, 03, 4:53 AM Let's see, did 4 years of Army ROTC, then another 4 active before blowing my left knee. Now 4 surgeries later (and counting) and I have my MCSE (2000) and A&P Certs (I get bored). Now working as a sales manager for a top Cendant company.
No kids (the world thanks me for it too). Soon to be married to the woman of my dreams (Niki) on 8/16/03 after 4 years of dating.
I owned a '69 Chevelle since high school. It had several 427's in it before running a best of 11.5 in the quarter. Forced to sell 2 years ago because of money issues graemlins/sad.gif .
I now own a '70 El Camino which is in the long process of "Hot Rodding". I don't expect it to be finished for at least another year, if not more. Afterward it will have a built 496, running 11's through the muffs, with the A/C and my stereo blasting!!
I am also a gun collector and run alittle club of local drag racers. I used to drive/co-drive for several teams involved with SCCA off-road Rallye racing, but can't do it any more due to knee injuries.

Whittaker Feb 15th, 04, 9:57 AM I'm 31 my body says I'm older, my mind says I'm 16. I teach 5th grade my first year doing this. I was a substitute and a pre-school teacher before that. I was in college for nine years 90-99. I broke my neck in 91 as a painter for the summer. Was in the hospital about 100 days took nine months but went back to college this time in a wheelchair and bought my Chevelle totaled in 97. Graduated with a masters, bought a house, all in 1999. Got married in 2000 and started working on the Chevelle again. In 99 I bought my second Chevelle another 66 but this one is a station wagon. I have too little space, time, and money for all of this. The wife is in human resources and very supportive. Her car will be/is the wagon. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and are trying to get pregnant.
The down side is we both may get laid off come August with all of the budget cuts but we'll get by some how.

Retired from United Airlines, 35 years as aircraft mechanic & foreman (or team leader, supervisor or whatever's politicly correct now). Only had one Chevelle - the 67 4sp Malibu I bought at Hallman Chevrolet, Hamburg, N.Y. in Dec,'66, when I got back from Viet Nam. Probably have it till I die, then my kid will "tub it", or race it as a stockcar!

Team140 Mar 4th, 04, 2:19 PM What the heck, I'll add to this thread and keep it alive another day!
I'm 29, currently single so it leaves me plenty of spare time to mess with my A-Body. It's not a Chevelle, but it's close cousin - 1971 Monte Carlo.
I'm a Systems Analyst for the US Navy. Basically I do my best to make sure everyone's computers do what they're supposed to!
