My brother drove a 70ss in high school and dad got me a flippin 73 datsun pick up. that really sucked. :(But my wife and i have been looking for a long time and pretty much decided we would have to wait a few more years to purchase one *with my daughter just turning sixteen*

I'm 52, married with no kids. I worked in the uranium industry as a mechanical designer. I owned a true 68SS back in the late 70's. I just purchased a 70 project with #'s matching L48, M20 and 12 bolt. I'm trying to finish all the home reno projects I've got going so I can get at the car. It needs a frame off resto - rear shock towers are a mess from air shocks. The body is fairly solid with just the lower quarters and lower fenders and trunk pan needing replacement. The motor is done with pistons, cam, roller rockers, 2.02/1.60 stainless valves, Milodon deep sump pan, Air Gap intake, etc. and sitting on an engine stand. I'm going to have fun with this car. :D

Well lets see, I'm 57 years old, been married to my best friend for the past 37 years and we still like each other.
After driving a truck for over 30 years, I'm now called operations center manager for a large trucking company out of Dallas. In short that means I get yelled at when some one else screws up...I'm sure some of you know what I mean.
I have always loved cars and have always had some kind of toy in the garage to play with.
After having a Corvette for the past 13 years it's time to go back to where I belong, red 65 Chevelle.
Hope to make a few friends on here.

I am 29, and have been teaching for 7 years. I just finished my Master's Degree in April, and happy to be done. I have right now a 68 SS that is all original other then paint. I am the second owner and I bought it from the little old lady in ND in 2001. She was a pack rat when it came to paper work! The car is pretty neat. PW, rear defrost, A/C, and some other cool stuff. She took delivery the end of December in 67. The car still has the original drivetrain, with 72,XXX miles. I also have another 68 SS that has new sheetmetal hanging. It was a 4-speed manual steering car. That is my other KEEPER. I bought a 70 Malibu as my summer project, since my job with my Uncle (elec. contractor) wasn't full-time. That is waiting for paint:yes:. I took if off the frame and media blasted everything. All new suspension, and painted the underneath of the body/cowl to match the exterior color of the car. This is long winded...Sorry. Finally, I have a 79 Malibu from California (rust free) and a 68 Camaro SS (nees full restore).

30, unemployed currently. In the past worked in construction management type jobs. Currently taking my tests for my Water Plant Operator C liscense. Hope to land a job in that field in the next 3-4 months. People will always need clean drinking water, and it's no secret that state jobs have good bene's. I'm tired of working in construction for 10+ years. When it's good, it's really good. And when it's bad, you starve.

I'm 47 married with 2 boys and a girl as well as a 67 malibu mistress (as my wife calls it) in the garage. Having spent the last 15 years playing with fast Datsuns all the muscle car stuff is new to me. Parts are cheaper and readily available which is a welcome switch from the gouging parts hoarders in the import world. Lot's of questions come up which helpful people on this site are willing help me out with.

23 Years old, Officer in US Coast Guard, mechanical engineering degree (does little to nothing for hands on stuff). Bought 1971 Chevelle after my previous car was destroyed in Hurricane IKE. Used it as a daily driver from OCT08-JUN09 (drove up and down east coast and all around on an engine that almost burned more oil than gas...lol) and now working on making her a daily driver again...

This is the first site that I have joined. Since the house emptied, I find that I now have time on the computer for this. I am 56 years old, a retired exmachine shop partner (actually more disabled than retired, but had no choice) Didn't take care of my knees when young. I bought a 65 El Camino about 4 years ago and decided to make a street machine of it. It was one of those where you take something apart and finds something worse wrong and it just snowballs from there. I've been a gearhead since high school, drag raced for a while, and am now getting back into it since the boys have left home. One is 32, the other 30. My questions is what factory manual would the door windows and regulators be in for removing and installing. I have the Chev. factory assembly manual, and the Chev chassis service manual. No windows in either. What other is left? I would like to get cruising this spring. Would appreciate any help, if I can figure out where to get the answer when someone sends it to me. Nice to meet you all. Be talking to you soon.

Just bought my second 72 Chevelle (first in 20 years) with big plans to build it. On disability it's going to take 10 years to raise the money, so I'm going back to school in the fall to try a new career (networking/IT).

New to the forum and thought this would be a great place to start. so here goes.
I am 27 and I am a banker. Exciting I know.

My daily driver is a '06 Trailblazer SS (stock but with a 6.0 putting out about 395hp, that is all I need for everyday.)

My pride and joy is a 1970 Misty Turqouise and white Hardtop. Pretty much all original with the exception of the radio and the rims (have those in storage). Has a 307 under the hood, Powerglade and only 95K miles. Got it as my first car at 14 and drove it daily for six years. It has spent the last 5 under a shed but I recently pulled it out and am starting a long overdue make over.

Glad to be here and hope to learn a lot during this process

Im 30.

Im a Bartender in Sonoma county CA (wine country).

I also have a BA and several years of significant experience in business management. Im happy to have the bartending job in this economy but it never hurts to state that you are looking for another professional direction in a place where many eyes can see.

Id move across the whole country (primered 67 Elco in tow) for a better position.

<edit>I just went and read my other post, #34. I am not married anymore or work for that company either; the 64 El Camino was sold before it was completed and in 8 months I get to retire.

This may be the longest running active thread on the site. I saw some names on the first few pages that I have not seen in the past few years. What was interesting is my current signature does not show in that old thread.

Either you dont know how many kids you have, or if they are both male, or if you've married 2 boys? Since you moved from GA (pronounced as one word), im going to guess the last option.
