I am 59 years old and a fire chief in the 5th largest fire department in Oregon. I grew up in Los Angeles and was a firefighter in Long Beach, Ca. for 23 years. I am a Marine Corps vet with service in Vietnam and Bachelor's Degree from Long Beach State.
I am married (second time) one boy who is a high school jock and a girl who is a high school cheerleader; a lot better than the other way around.

I love Chevelles, but also Mustangs and pretty much every type of muscle car from the 60's and early 70's. I am restoring a 1970 Malibu with my son and a 1967 Mustang for my daughter.

I'm 56 years old. I'm married to my third wife who happens to be "the charm", and my soul mate. WE will be married 8 years in July. I have three sons ages, 28, 26, and 22. The oldest and youngest live out of state. I retired as a letter carrier with the USPS last July, and currently have a second career with a private mailing firm. My second career is very rewarding. So, I figure I'll work a few more years to pay for some Chevy parts. I have a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 clone. It's the car I wanted when I was 16 years old, but I was only making $1.65 an hour back then. The car is triple black, cragers, ladder bars, four speed T10. It's 60 over compcam 556 lift, roller rockers. The heads are 1970 402 ovalport heads. It has a 410 twelve bolt possi rear. The car is very quick. I've owned it almost two years and enjoy driving it very much. it makes me feel much younger. The previous owner did most of the work, but I've made many improvements. I also have a '69 Nova project car in the garage. I'm looking forward to the cruising season with my wife.

Still have most of the build sheet that a hungry mouse didnt get, before I got him. Came in through the factory seam in the trunk. It's fixed now.

I am a retired oil industry engineer. Most of you could be my children or grandchildren. :)

I ordered my Chevelle in November 1964 and took delivery in Feb 65. L79, factory tach, heavy duty suspension, metallic brakes, bench seat 4-speed, Malibu hardtop.

Lost the original engine 1971.

Now almost finished with a restoration, hopefully in the next month or so.

Just joined minutes ago - still have to fill out a profile. A few years ago when my father passed away I acquired the car I remembered spending many summers in - 73 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham. Now, in a week I'll be picking up the second car of my youth, the one I learned to drive on -(the Chrysler was strictly a summer car, and only my dad drove it) - a 72 Chevelle Wagon. We had a Nomad, but the one I've just purchased is a Concours Estate.

Does anyone know if I can get replacement woodgrain trim for the body panels? There's rust in the quarters and I'll need to replace them, but I don't want to start cutting without knowing what I can put back to 'stock'...

Thanks in advance - and I'm 43, in marketing, and have a young daughter who will inherit both treasures...

Hey I'm 50 and have been a Chevelle lover since I was 17. I have 2 grown kids, one just graduated from college and the other is a sopmore in college. What that means for me is that I'm not as broke as I used to be and that I have lots of free time to spend in the garage working on my restoration project. I am currently restoring a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 and have been working on it for around 2.5 years. I have just gotten the engine running and spent this weekend installing the front coil springs (ouch) and front brakes.

I work as a Network Security Engineer and have been in that field for 20+ years. I was hoping to retire at 55 but don't think I'll be able to do so finacially, so I guess I'll be working until retirement age. Once I retire I plan to start a restoration business and hope to restore and sell 1 car a month.

I view the garage as my home away from home, I spend more time working out there than I do in the house. Check out my restoration project at http://ss4gas.com, I just posted a video of the car running there!

52,2nd marriage/wife's a school teacher,i have 2 step kids,1 is an 18 yr old girl starting art college in Chicago in sept and the other is a 21 yr old boy that's going to college to be an archietect(SP?LOL!!!)

I have owned my #'s matching 69 chevelle ss396 m20 4spd with 331 12bolt posi since 1978/30 yrs at this point. I also have a 1977 Kawaski KZ1000 i bought new thats got a Kerker 4 into 1 and Mulholland rear shocks but otherwise stock. It's always been on the road since new and i ride it every summer but it only has approx 25k miles on it is in good cond and still runs very well too. I also have a 76 Kawi KZ9000 with 2500 miles on it in great cond.I have also owned 4-500 H1's & 1-750 H2 tripple cyl 2stroke Kawi's back in the day,boy were they fast in a striaght line wheelie machines but handled like crap. I also used to play guitar (1967 Les Paul gold top) in a few rock bands over the yrs but i have been out of that for many yrs now. I used to fly a Cesna 150 & 172 but it became way to expensive for me a few yrs back so that had to go. I also had built and flown radio controlled air planes yrs too but had to drop out for last 7-8 yrs due to being overloaded at work and home. But i hope to get back into again in the near to not so distant future, esp for retirement someday, its very cool hobby and the plains are a lot of fun to build and fly. I used to also hit the strip with a few cars in my younger yrs too but thelast time for that was back in the early 80's which was a long time ago.

Oh,almost forgot on my job,i will be hitting my 30th on 12/5/08 in the semiconductor industry currently working in the development end of the buisness @ IBM. I dont know how much more i can take of them/IBM or they can take of me. But now that i dont care as much what they think and i now tell them what i think when they keep shafting us taking more and more of the pension away that was promissed us 30 yrs ago when hired but thats a story for another day.

I think that covers the majority of it.

I'm 77, currently engaged to marry my first wife who will then become my fourth wife. While you're figuring that one out, I've got a 76 Malibu wagon that I'm trying to keep on the road no matter how much the California gvmt tries to prevent it. The job right now is getting it to pass the smog test. It's passed easily before, but now there's a problem with the HC being too high.

I hesitated to join this group because I feared you all might limit membership to those with 72s and older. My wagon is definitely not a muscle car. And most of you are probably not much concerned with emissions problems because you're exempt.

I retired from cab driving a couple years ago and now spend what spare time I have painting pictures and trying to get the wagon fixed up for a cross-country trip.

My 15 yo girl has maintained a 4.0 average since 1st grade. She has her first application into the Naval Academy. My 4 yr old is going to be a motor head. His 4 wheeler will not go fast enough any more so a go cart it is for christmas. My wife is 34 and the greatest woman I know. She drives a Saleen but i have convinced her to order a new Camaro. Hell we only live once and as long as I have a retirement coming and can pay for my kids college thaen things will be just fine.
