Dans70Chevelle May 18th, 07, 12:16 AM Well when this thread first started I had just joined TC, but never made a post on this thread...
Back then I was 17, still in high school driving the Chevelle around, and thought I wanted to turn wrenches for a living...
Now 24, State Trooper, was able to buy a house, but still single!!! funny how some things change... Also haven't had the Chevelle out since high school :( but that will change this summer..
CustomChevyGuy May 19th, 07, 11:22 AM I'm 25, and currently work as an Operations Manager for a home audio & video store in Vero Beach, FL.
I have officially owned a 71 Chevelle for 1 week! Its the first car I bought, and most people dont understand my obsession..They dont see why I would buy a project car that is "such a gas guzzler"...I dont see how anyone can drive most of these new cars that have no power/sound or personality
I plan on making the car my daily driver and a 454 SS clone...fully enjoying lots of power and sound... and scaring drivers of rice while I'm at idle
77 cruiser May 19th, 07, 2:41 PM I've been here since 99 & have never posted here.
But I'm 52 & I make paper it's a dirty job but some has to do it.
Pudgy102097 May 21st, 07, 9:31 AM I'm a 25 year old A&P mechanic. Been in the TN ANG for the past seven years. Married with two dogs. I love working on my 65 chevelle, playing my banjo, and brewing beer. I reside in Murfreesboro,TN.
Yelcamino May 22nd, 07, 10:39 AM I'm 40 and in the Coast Guard since '87. I'm currently assigned to the Marine Safety Unit in Huntington, WV. If you're wondering what the Coast Guard is doing in WV, in a nutshell, we maintain the safety and security of all commercial vessels and recreational boats on the Western Rivers.
Anyway, I'm still married to my first wife (15 years next month), no kids (other than me), some cats, and a bunch of cars and motorcycles. It keeps me out of trouble.

UDHarold Jun 11th, 07, 1:11 AM I'm so old(66 1/2) that I don't remember if I've posted in this thread before or not........
Married for 36 years, 1 girl-29, 1 boy-26(former cam grinder at UltraDyne and then Crane). I work from home via computer, and can be reached at 662-301-1245.
I started full-time in cam design in 1974 with General Kinetics of Detroit, became Competition Cams' original cam designer, designing the High Energy series for them in 1977-78, started UltraDyne in 1980 at my friend Harvey Crane's urging. I had UltraDyne for 23 years until a series of unrelated events pushed us into bankruptcy. Went to work for Lunati, and designed the VooDoo series of cams for them. Working on Landis's in relation to developing the VooDoos got me my current job with Custom Camshaft Company, a division of Arrington Manufacturing, who does a lot of the Dodge engines in the NASCAR Truck series. They run my cams. I am attempting to develop Custom Camshaft Company into a regular full-service cam company, and it will be. I hope to keep working for at least the next 10 years, as I love cam design.
I also love all the great guys here on Team Chevelle. You have been a source of inspiration to me.

Holly crap! You're like the ultimate cam guy! I never realized you worked a few different companies for so long. That's awesome!

Professor_SS Nov 22nd, 07, 12:57 PM 45, married, (2nd time) teach at a local business college, (computers and business) 2 boys at home, one girl moved out on her own, live in central MD; from upstate NY, wife is an Air Force brat, red hair temper to match (first one was also) her father still thinks he's in command, and is. Wife is a pharmacist. 3 dashunds that own the place, luckily I have a garage to hide in.
WOW, this thing has been going on forever. So long in fact that I guess we should be updating. This earlier post was submitted in 2000.
I have now passed the half century mark (couple years back). Still teaching at the same school, although we were "purchased" so now I teach for Kaplan College Hagerstown. I'm back in school taking on-line classes to upgrade my skills. Hoping to sit for the CPA exam eventually. Still married to the same wonderful woman. But if she doesn't stop over drawing the checking account and running up the credit card I just may kill her. Oldest son is on his 2nd tour in Iraq and married to the most horrible woman that his mother and I could have ever had nightmares about. Daughter is living in northeast PA working as a firefighter. Don't hear from her as often as I would like. Youngest son is the "failure to launch" child that is working on the 3rd year of his 2 year degree and playing video games 20 out of every 24 hours. And of course he chose not to go to the college I work for, no he couldn't do that he could have gone there for free. The only way that one will leave this house is if we sell it and don't leave a forwarding address. Father-in-law passed a couple years back. He had a back operation and never really recovered. After ending up in a chair the man gave up on life. One of the Dachshunds passed on Christmas eve two years back now.
I still hide in a garage but I've had so little "mad" money to work on the car that it hasn't changed much in three or so years. Good thing my two best friends have money, hot rods and garages so I can go over and help them with their projects. Or at least drink their beer. I still have a Christmas Elf phobia but I have recovered sufficiently that I can venture out on Christmas eve without suffering a panic attack. :D
SM396 Nov 22nd, 07, 1:22 PM 46 years old, work as an attorney in California, trying to figure out how to pay for this disease called restoration and pay for private school for my step-daughters. First restoration project almost finished, a 75 BMW 2002, 2 liter, 9.8 to 1 compression, dual side draft 45 webers, 294 cam, 170 hp for a car that weighs less than a ton. Beginning a true 66 396(EF) SS with born with motor and rear-end.
Chevycollecter Nov 22nd, 07, 4:15 PM I'm 43, single with no children, and a Fed-Ex courier in PA. I don't have enough spare time to enjoy all my hot rods, which includes 5 Chevelles. The current total resto project is a 65 El Camino and I'm thinking it may be my last. All you guys who do all your own work know how much work this is. I'd rather spend more time driving them than restoring them. But I'll tell you when someone admires your car and tells you how nice it is , it makes all those long days in the garage worth it.
chevl71 Nov 22nd, 07, 4:57 PM Okay, I guess I can make this thread one longer!
49, no co-pilot. Was in radio for quite a while, then went to work for a transmitter manufacturer for 15 years; worked repair shop, technical publications/training and most recently marketing. While here finished my technical degree and will soon finish my MBA in Business. Will look for the best situation after graduation, whether be here or elsewhere (drop me a line if you know of a good situation).
Have three '71 Chevelles and my son has one '71. Daughter has a '78 T/A.

300Deluxe Nov 23rd, 07, 12:33 AM 24 from Dickson, TN. I work as an engineer at an office furniture and industrial shelving manufacturer. I also attend college full time. Should finish my degree up within the next year or so. I plan to work on my master's shortly there after. I have a '66 300 Deluxe that I've owned since 14 years old. 57,000 original miles. The original 6 and powerglide was yanked approx. 10 years ago to make room for a 350/TH350.
I just recently purchased a house and I'm currently looking for part-time work to speed up the process of getting furniture and appliances, AND to finish getting the Chevelle road-worthy by spring/summer! Gotta do it with CASH, not credit! As Dave Ramsey says, "where the paid-off home mortgage has replaced the BMW as the status symbol of choice...... where cash is king and debt is dumb".

Highway Star Nov 29th, 07, 1:55 PM 31 years old.....married to a fine foxy redhead with freckles....have two sons.....one eight - still calls my chevelle "papa's (my deceased father) race car" to which I do not object.....also we only listen to oldies like papa did when we cruise and as far as he is conerned that is "race car music".....other son is almost 2 1/2.....one of the first times I took him for a ride he was sitting in his seat in the back and I heard him to say to his bubba (brother) "dis is aaaaawesome!" - had never heard him say awesome before. When its sunny and we're going somewhere he says "take race car daddy? the sound...the sound" I wish my dad, me, and my two boys could have had a chance to all ride together in person. I know he's with us every time we go, but I miss him. I'll never forget the summer night that my mother voicemailed me frantically excited, screaming something about dad blowing the doors off of a mach 1 mustang on 690 heading to the thruway to go home from the Syracuse Nationals. -Sorry that was irrelevant...just feeling reminiscent-
Anyways, I work for a Industrial Electric and Instrumentation Contractor down on the mighty mississipp' at Shell. Yeah, the V-Power hi-test my 72 guzzles is made just over the fence from where I am sitting right now, and is one of only 12 plants with a catalyst cracker that makes gasoline in the US.
Prior to wearing this hat, I was a chef for better than 10 years. Believe it or not, my first gig, at the age of 14 was flipping burgers in the concession stand at National Trails Raceway in Hebron, Ohio, outside Columbus, where the Pontiac-NHRA Spring Nationals used to be held.
