Okay, the plan is to convert my all around
drum brakes on my 66 malibu for some 70-72
Monte carlo front disk brakes.Already know
witch parts to take off,I'm confuesd about
one thing?,(the brake padal)why do I have to
take it off the Monte Carlo, cant I just use
my Own from the malibu. If indeed I have to
take it off,do I just take off the pedal or
the entire thing.Please explain why?

Mike, I used the booster off of a 70, the spindles & rotors & stuff off of a 72 M/C. I used my 66's old pedal with no trouble. Good luck, you'll love those power discs. Rick..

You do not need a new pedal.

Mike: there are a couple things that you will need that sometimes do not get mentioned. Grab the little sheet metal tab from the lower hole in the Monte brake pedal. This thing is what makes contact with the brake light switch when the pedal is in the power brake position. And get the frame brackets for the front hydraulic hoses. The disk brake brackets are (for some odd reason) twice as thick as those for the drums; the disk type hoses will flop around in the drume type brackets.
