View Full Version : spindels for my 66 javier Aug 18th, 99, 11:18 PM I have spindels of an 72 camaro and i was wondering if they would fit my 66 whit out any major modifications. ETD66SS Aug 19th, 99, 7:46 AM I have 78 Z28 spindles on my 66, it changed a hell of a lot, I'm still looking for some answers. Look at my previous postings on this topic, you will see all the things I ran into. Pat Kelley Aug 19th, 99, 10:59 PM I believe the 72 Camaro spindles are among the ones most used for this conversion. The 78 spindles ETD66SS mentioned are the tall spindles and require changing the upper control arm to an aftermarker unit from Golbalwest or Hotchkis and reworked ball joints. Nice thing about the tall spindles is you can use larger rotors. There may be an article in the tech reference section about this conversion. ------------------ Pat Kelley 66 & 67 El Caminos Bob Tiley Aug 20th, 99, 7:12 AM 1970 to 1981 Camaro Spindles can be used but require a lot of changes like special aftermarket control arms, etc. You really need 69 to 72 GM "A" Body spindles for disc brakes to swap to disc brakes. Any Tempest, Lemans, Skylark, Cutlass, Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, Chevelle from 69 to 72 will work. |
