The "tall" ne is from 1967 only. In '68 and '69 the manifold was lowered to fit under the new hood. Get a '67 if you can. I had one on a 454 in a '72 Nova and it was the best running car I have ever owned. It did take some tuning to get it to run right. Use mechanical linkage and not the stock vacuum setup. The short intakes do give up a little power, but I couldn't say how much. SSuper Dave

All the 68 and 69 Tri-Power intakes are for Rect. Port heads. Only in 67 did they make an oval Port intake.

Thanks guys I am in the process of purchasing a low rise oval port the seller also has a hi rise setup my question was about hood clearance I read my post and realized I had gotten off the path sorry MIKE
The low rise oval port 3x2 manifold was made in '68 and '69. I had a '69 427, 400 hp Corvette with that manifold. References show the casting number as 3937795. von ACES 1575

You can not put a high rise manifold on a 69 (SS/396 El Camino that mesures more than 31/4 to 31/2. Mesure from the 4th intake bolt hole, left side of manifold counting front to rear. Top of bolt hole, not top of bolt to carb. surface. Unless you use some kind of off-set air cleaner.

GUYS, Check your Corvette specs!
67--400hp Tri-p intake (oval port) 3894382, 435hp (rect port) 3894374.
68--400hp early (oval port) 3919850, late3937795, 435hp (rect port) early 3919852, late 3937797.
69--400hp (oval port) 3937795, 435hp (rect port) 3937797.
The above are casting nos., not part nos.
I have not personally performed a height measurement between these manifolds so I can't say if the 67 is taller than 68-9. But for sure, 400hp and 435hp engines were installed in 67, 68, 69 Corvettes.
67--2,101 400hp, 3,754 435hp.
68--1,932 400hp, 2,898 435hp.
69--2,072 400hp, 2,722 435hp.
All tri-p had the triangular air cleaner.

In late '69, my Dad and I installed a '69 Corvette L-71 427 in our '69 SS El Camino. Everything worked perfectly w/o clearance problems of any kind. Only mods we made were mechanical linkage & hydraulic cam. One of these days, I plan on installing tripower on my big block 68 Elky SS,too.
