View Full Version : R/R Wiper switch on a 67 Johnb Dec 22nd, 98, 1:39 PM Do I have to remove or drop the dash to replace the wiper switch on my 67 ? , I can't seem to get the knob off....I'm stuck! Badblu67 Dec 22nd, 98, 5:22 PM I was able to remove mine without removing the dash. You have to unscrew the retainer piece on the outside (round chrome piece with notches in it) and then you can push the switch back and reach it from underneath. Hope this helps. Jeff Badblu67 Dec 27th, 98, 4:32 PM Sorry, not completely correct... I did have to lower the dash to slide the switch in, and yes it was a tight fit. rtgm Dec 27th, 98, 11:31 PM There's a small set screw on the side of the knob that holds it in place. You will need to loosen it with a small slotted screwdriver from the front side of the dash. You can then slide the knob off, unscrew the retainer, then push the switch assembly and wires back through the dash. If you lay with your back on the floorboard you can reach up, pull the assembly down toward the brake pedal, swap in the new switch, then reassemble without pulling the dash. I just performed the above on my '67 with a new switch from the Muscle Factory and it works great! Johnb Dec 28th, 98, 10:13 AM thanks for the info..., at least this should keep the curse words to a minimum when I'm replacing the switch. Again this is the best place for help! |
