I just noticed what was a hairline crack, has gotten worse. The rear of the frame, the center part of what's covered by the rear bumper has cracked, but hasn't totally separated. How will this effect the structural integrity of the frame and car as a whole? What can I do to get this fixed? Have it boxed with sheetmetal? Or just weld it and hope it holds?
Thanks!

I believe this was just dicussed in the Tech forum just last week. I'm no expert, but I believe you can just weld it and be just fine. Actually, the weld will be stronger than the rest of the frame. You could always take it to a body/frame place. I'd personally get it fixed before it gets any worse.

I am getting ready to mig a crack on my frame. One thing to keep in mind is why is it cracking? Make shure the cause is fixed. A good weld will be stronger than the base meatal as was said. More details might help but like was also said, get it fixed now

The hairline crack was caused from being rear ended.
Thanks for all your help guys!
