Sheetmetal. The ribbon goes in the channel. Then the glass is put on. Don't forget to first position the glass using rubber blocks at the bottom and masking tape over the glass as well as the body. And degrease channel and glass thoroughly.

Rob is right on the money Dave and also there is a special primer that any good glass man worth their salt will used. When the channel is totally clean and degreased as Rob mentioned, use the primer in the channel just before installing the ribbon, and by all means if the rear glass is the same thickness as your original one be sure to use only a 5/16 ribbon, my guy used a 3/8 the first time and the molding would not engaged the clips, I know I was standing there the whole time. I just went through this drill for the entire past week. Hope this helps. I do not know the technical name for the primer, sorry.

Jesse, It's these little details that drive us nuts. It's seems like you never hear about these until it's too late and you have to learn them the hard way.

Its called pinchweld primer, black stuff helps bond the ribbon or urethane to the metal. ;)

Von, You are so correct guy. Mine was painted Saturday and I am waiting to see it today. Can not wait. I will try to post some pictures in Bench Racing of it in the future.
