ok
i just cant get them off no matter what. Ive tried wd-40, Mr good wrench and a blowtorch with nothing. not even a budge. Help!! what can i do to get these things off!

sorry i posted this in 3 different areas but i need this body off by this weekend or else work on it ends. sorry for the inconvinience(sp).

Do you mean body mount bolts? If so you will be lucky to get half of them out without twisting them off. 30+/- years bolted together = twisted off bolts. You might have to just twist them off, then when you have the frame out of the way, cut open the area (3 sides) with an air cut off tool to get to the cage nut. Then either make new nuts or put the old ones in the vice and use some heat to get them apart if possable.

He's right. I just took all of mine out and busted half of them off.

Had the nuts turn on the other end ona couple due to rust eating away the support that held the nuts from turning. That was fun..NOT!

In any case, you are either going to need an impact wrench or a long breaker bar. If you don't have that, use the biggest ratchet you have with a pipe over the handle .....and hope it's guranteed replacement http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

Those are some big and strong bolts ...even when rusty.
