I have a rusted trunk pan in my 65 full size. What is the best tool for the job? I've read air chisel (own one but never used one), niblers, air saw etc... Which one does the best job with out the huge learning curve?

I use a 3" cutoff wheel for most cutting, but the air saw works great in tight corners. I never cared for the chisel method, sorta leaves a wavy edge.

Air powered shears. I usually use a cut off wheel but I'm ready to step up and get the shears, almost the same price as the niblers but they leave a nicer edge.

I'm in process of removing my trunk now. The cutoff wheel is nice because you don't have to worry about going through braces and stuff. If you absolutley know there is nothing behind it, the plasma cutter rocks! :D

Well it depends if you want to rough cut the metal out for removal or final cut the metal for welding!! For roughing out nothings beats an air hammer with a sheetmetal ripper bit(looks like a V with a smaller finger on the bottom) But for final cutting for welding I used a cut off but now use an air saw. The air saw leaves a nicer edge and a smaller gap perfect for butt welding. The cutoff leaves a nice edge too but a bit wide of a gap for welding.
Like Crankshaft mentioned you GOT to beware of whats under that metal you are cutting...Eric
