Just for fun i wanted to find out what color combos you have seen on a chevelle that you dont see very often or never have seen before.I'am talking about factory orginal colors and the interior colors.I have #58 autumn gold # 10 classic white stripes,D99 white painted roof which i did not go with and dark green bench seat interior on my 70ss396.I have never seen another one like mine and was curious if anyone else has.

My friend restored a 70 L34, originally Gobi Beige, Gold Vinyl Roof, Green interior. Not sure about stripes. When he restored the car it ended up totally changed.

My mother once spotted a 66 SS sitting and informed me (she knows her cars and says I "taught" her to spot 66 Cheveles).

It was factory two-toned, Sandlewood Tan bottom with a Cameo Beige PAINTED top. Two-tone Fawn interior too. Owner didn't want to sell...

I have seen several two-tone Chevelles, but very few SS cars with the two-tone.

I have only seen one Chateau Slate 66 SS, and it also had a factory two-tone with a black painted top.

I have also seen only one 67 with the Royal Plum color...

And what about the 65 lavendar color (Iris?)...

I think the most unusual color combo I have seen is Sandalwood Tan and Capri Cream. As for unusual colors, possibly Cypress Green and Danube Blue.

My 69 is azure turquoise with a white top, silver lower color (below the lower trim) and has a black bench seat interior. My 70 SS is cranberry red with a white vinyl top, white stripes and has black interior except for the door panels and seats (and this is all original). Factory could out about any color options that are certainly not available on today’s cars.

Brian L34, that combo of yours sure is an odd one!
One that I have seen on a '70 SS396 was Daytona Yellow with black stripes and Sandlewood interior.
I recall talking with someone on the site a few years back that has a '67 SS396 in Tahoe Turquoise with a white 2-tone roof & medium turquoise interior.
There is a '67 SS396 convertible in the registry here that reportedly used to be Maderia Maroon with a gold bench seat interior
I recall YenkoChevelle or somebody stating that they used to own a '69 SS396 L78 in Cortez Silver with a dark blue vinyl top & interior (doesn't sound half bad).
About 15 or so years ago I saw a '66 Canadian Malibu SS convertible Chateau Slate with red interior. Another rarely seen colour in '66 was Blue Charcoal (may not have been available in the U.S.?)

I'm guessing 72 Midnight bronze is pretty rare, I've only seen a few others out there.

Hey thats exactly what my 66 ss is supposed to be Marina66SS:
This car sold about 8-10 years ago (Hemmings) to someone back-east. Out of Northern California/Oregon... Maybe the same car? Had a Dealer installed "Knee-Knocker" (with the bow-tie) and console... I recall a 4-speed...

My convertible was Aztek Bronze with a white top and two-tone fawn interior... I did see one other identical, so I decided to paint it Marina Blue with a semi-custom factory white interior...

How about the common colors... I was at a car show, in line for a parade. Got out and walked around and suddenly the cars started going. I ran up to my car and there was some guy sitting in it... Oops, my car was three in front of his, but the same color... I think his kids had tried to get in mine earlier...

My 68 SS-396 car, has an LLFF paint code (going by memory) which is supposed to be two tone teal.

I've never seen that color combo, I'm told it was the roof was painted instead of covered with vinyl. I try to picture it in my, head and I can't imagine it looking good. I wonder if the bottom was painted black, like the early SS cars.
Or did it have the SS stripe. I know the interior was originally medium blue, with buckets and a console. And that since it is a bisc brake car, it had rally wheels. My car has the 7000 rpm tach too.

Sure wish the weather was nicer, It'll be 4 months before its nice enough to get it out again. :( :( :(

Black top, maroon door panels, gold dash pad, and I'm not sure what color the seats were since they have been redone (at least once).
I wonder if the original owner was a 49er's fan? ;)

Not a Chevelle, but my 70 Monte came white with dark green vinyl top and interior.

I've never seen another one, but it doesn't sound all that unusual

Most unusual color? I think I have you all beat, I own a 1971 Chevelle SS painted Carolina Blue, I have only ever seen one other Chevelle this color. It is an original factory color. The color was only availible to dealers in the Carolinas in the early '70's. Anybody else have one this color, I would very intrested in hearing from you. My email address is sd4osu@defnet.com

My '70 originally was #14 cortez silver w/blue vinyl top, 762 med blue river cloth bench interior graemlins/clonk.gif then at some point some yeh-hoo decided the an Earl Schibe $99.95 blue omnicoat (no shine) exterior would look good, minus the vinyl graemlins/thumbsup.gif I think it's #14 cortez w/ black stripes on the resto, w/ black vinyl and black interior.

I've also got the 68 paint code for Midnight Bronze Metallic in my 72 Chevelle. In anything but the right light, it looks almost black. Has a black vinyl roof, too. I'll be keeping the original color.

Chris, Troy-Curt,

Glad you posted responses! ...I've also got a Silver w Dk Blue interior car. ...and as you said, I've not seen many [one other in the Peach State Club but with a bench seat]. Most all seem to have black interior.

How about a 65 with 'WW' on the trim tag paint code which is 'Glacier Gray Metallic' and #714 black bucket.

Car is a SS with PG, 327/300,AC, PS,PB,and rare power windows.I am trying to buy it as I write this. I have never seen a 'GLACIER GRAY' paint on a 65 Chevelle. It was offered on SS models only, and appears to be a dark silver/gray metallic color which should be quite nice.

How about burnished brown in 69 and sandalwood in 1971.

I have seen an LS6 car with paint code delete. It was special ordered in North Carolina Tarheels Blue with what I believe was a light blue interior. Legendary Motorcars up in Canada had it for sale.

Dick, Fathom Blue car would have had only black, blue, and ivory available as interior colors according to the GM restoration packet.
