I'm tring to add the lower rocker molding trim from SS cars to my 67' Malibu. It didn't come fom the factory with moldings, so I don't know where to start with drilling for the mounting clips.
Does anyone have any info or a template or ??? as to where to start?
Thanks

I'm not aware of an available template, so...you're gonna have to do a little guestimating.

Place the molding against the car(get someone to hold it in place for you.) Estimate as close as possible the location of the screw that holds the circular tab on the end at the front fender and another at the end near the rear wheel well. Install those two and test fit. If they are ok, snap a chalk line between those two and drill the rest of the holes for the circular tabs spacing them approximately equal distances apart. If you don't have a chalk line, you can also run masking tape between the two extreme ends; however, you will need to ensure that the tape is pulled tight without any sag in the middle.

Once you've mounted the circular tabs(and plugged any "oops" holes), mount the molding on the tabs and drill the holes for the screws that go underneath the rocker panel.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it.
Wish me luck.

Not 100%sure on 67 but I have a templat for 64/65's and the NOS 66 SS molding I have are the same width, and the rockers are the same so I ASSUME the template will work. I will not send it But will trace a copy and mail it to you, if you want with a copy of the Generals instruction sheet on how to install optional rocker moldings.
