I can't find anyone to plate my hood catch, latch, hinges and springs on a 70SS. Is there really such a thing as gray phosphate plating or does everyone else just paint these item's? If you paint what color Eastwood will best match the factory look?

Contact John Haislip 410-969-8890. He can re-do these parts for you. Grey phosphate is not a plating. It is a chemical reaction on bare metal parts.

John sometimes advertises these services on this site and also the Chevelle magazines and HMN.

For the do it yourself job, try a product called "Oxisolve" or is it "Oxysolve"?. It looks pretty close and does a pretty good job of preventing rust. I think that Eastwood still sells this.
