Can anyone recommend a procedure for installing full quarters on a '69 2dr. hdtp? I'm particularly interested in how to weld the bottom edge in front of the rear wheel to the rocker panel.
Thanks,
Rich

Since its hard to weld inside the seam like the factory,i weld it right where the two panels meet every 3 or 4 inches then grind a line in the weld with a cut off wheel, prime, and then seam seal it

I plan on drilling a 3/8ths spot weld hole in the edge that sits inside the rocker about every 2 inches or so.. then squeezing the welder into that spot. shouldn't be too difficult. If that fails I will do the same procedure as 70isfine there recommends..

I have used both methods the 3/8's tack welds are a little harder to do but look factory.

You could drill small holes in the new metal and then weld them up, welding into the old metal on the backside.

I do this when I'm rewelding a factory spot weld.

70, that might be our first official triple post!!

We used the 3/8 welds on that part. It was hard to get the gun in there but it worked. We have some pics posted on our site.
