Ok, so since I dropped the 350 in the car, I had to use the stock throttle bracket, which used to have the kickdown cable attatched to it. However, I now have a holley 650, and the throttle bracket, I had to mount upside down on the side of the carb to get it to work properly. My question is: Isnt there some sort of throttle return plate of something that I can use to mount my kick down cable too? Any assistance that anyone can provide is greatly apprecaited. Thanks

What about this Holley accessory?

Earlier 70s SB models used a cable bracket that mounted on the intake manifold bolts instead of the carb bolts.
*EDIT*
The one I mentioned looks very close to the picture of the Holley one that Danny posted.

Well that might work, but it seems like the cable needs to come forward further to get full tension on it  I am gonna email that link to my friend(mechanic) to see if he thinks that will work...

I can take a pic of my setup for you if you like. That previous link is only somewhat like what my setup has.

Let me know if you need another option to consider.

I tried to hook up the kickdown with the bracket from the 305 last night, just to get me by till I find a bracket that will work, but that didnt happen. I am having to manuely shift it, and its getting a little old, especially when I am drinking my coffee in the morning :D If I dont manuelly shift it, it will shift on its own from 1st to second at about 40-45 mph, 2nd to 3rd at about 60-65 mph  so I have to do something soon....but on the highway, because the stock gears are so tall, it moves!!!!! Even though the car is weighing in at about 4200 lbs  But it is a huge improvment over that tired 305 2 brl that was in there.......
Thanks for you help everyone, I really appreciate it.
Dan, I would like to see a pic of your set up to see if I can use the same bracket....thanks
