Recently found a supposed original ss396 car with round idiot lights, 350hp 396 with a quadrajet carburetor, non functional cowl hood, motor has low rise quadrajet intake, 375 hp style open element air cleaner, spare wheel in trunk is not five spoke sport wheel. Has anyone seen a 70 with hubcaps instead of those sport wheels? First car I have seen with round idiot lights- is it legit?

Idiot lights were standard eqipmemt, gauges were an option. It should have the 5 spoke SS rims. None that I am aware of had high rise intakes, someone correct me if I am wrong. Other things to look for are power disc brakes (standard on all SS cars), 12 bolt rear, F41 suspension, and the steering column. We are going to need some more info and pictures of it to tell for sure.

What do you mean by the steering column? It has a standard black steering column with the 4 speed lockout feature still intact. Let me know, thanks.

Any of those things could have been replaced many times over in the last 34 years especially the spare tire smile.gif
