: 66' frame same as a 67'?

Will a 66'Chevelle hardtop frame be the ame or work with very minor chnges for a 67' Chevelle hartop?

You should be able to make it work. There are some minor differences in some of the rear body mount locations and later models had a change in the rear coil springs upper mounts. If you have access to the '67 frame you can check/compare it closely.

There are some differences in the profile of the frame transition from the front suspension down and outward to the side frame section. Makes no difference in a full body swap, but I found out the hard way if you section a piece of the '67 frame into a '66 frame the profiles don't match exactly.

My understanding is they are the same. One possible exception is the rear spring seat. The 66 bolts the bottom of the spring to the axil where the 67 just sits over the circle perch on the axil. I am hoping the top spring mount is the same and have heard so many times but can't tell you for sure yet.

There is no difference between frame except the numbers stamped on the frame behind the drivers rear wheel. As for the rearend the last guy was talking about that has nothing to do with the frame mounting to the body and could be fixed be changing the rearend.
