Is there a difference between a '66 SB and a BB tilt column? Is there a difference between a column shift and a floor shift at the flange? My understanding is that the SB and BB are the same, but for the column shift and the floor shift one has a fixed flange and the other has a removable flange.

Thanks for your feedback.

Greg, you are correct. There is no difference between the SB and BB tilt columns. They all have shafts with splined ends for the bolt on rag joint.

I think the difference you have heard of is with the non tilt columns in these cars; the small block column has a pressed on end fitting that bolts to the rag joint and the big block has a splined end that clamps to a fitting that bolts to the rag joint (the same as a tilt wheel).
