What is the best way to get my camaro body back to normal? After I put the Poly bushings in I've been seeing small problems but now this ones pretty bad. This is what started it. I took the grille out to redo it then I did the body bushings. After I got the bushings in I noticed my body seams were not as clean. So I loosened all the body bushing bolts up and it helped a little but now that I'm trying to put the grille back in this is what it looks like. The driver side looks good but pass. side is way off. What's funny is the bolt holes in the bottom of bottom trim line up with the holes in the body. Could the front of the car moved out that much? Have any of you had this problem? What can I do to fix it. I'm thinking maybe if I loosen up all the fender bolts it might settle back in or loosen all the bolts in the grille? But I don't know and I hate to make it worse. Thanks

When I did my Frame on resto on my convert. the body guy told me NOT to change the bushings as I would have to re-alighn all the front end panels including the radiator support...and this was using rubber bushings. The poly ones I think would make things worse as they are significantly harder than the stock rubber ones. I think you may have to re-alighn the entire nose on your car..not easy when finished but do-able...good luck...ALbert

Alss, I wish I new that before I did it.

I took 2 more pics. If you look where I circled it red you can see that it looks like it's bowing out at this point. You don't see any gap between grille area and bumper. I hope this goes back in place. If I would have known this I wouldn't have changed the bushings.

there should be alignement holes on the front two body mount tabs on the subframe, they should align with the corresponding holes in the body..you will need alignment pins made up if you cant get it close enough by eye..believe they were .6xx" diameter holes. Normally if you replace one bushing at a time this doesnt happen. Check over at team camaro for more info.

drp,

Do you think if I loosen the bushings up and align the holes I can get this back to where it was? It looks pretty bad like something is bent out of place or does it look worse than it is?

I follwed the directions from a camaro magazine. I have this same post over there at camaro tech. Thanks
