Anyone use the Goodmark sheetmetal. I am thinking about buying a set of 1966 chevelle door skins and would like to hear from anyone
that has positive's or negative's about the door skins product etc. Let me know if you all get the chance.

Good mark Good stuff for the after market. If your doors are in good shape, theres no reason the skins won't go on perfect. I wouldn't hesetate to use them.

Brenden,
Thanks for the feedback. You mention they won't go on perfect? Does that mean they are not straight or missized? I know Goodmark uses the GM restoration logo but I can only assume they are paying royalties to GM for this logo. I am considering these because my car was painted by the original owner in 1997 and I think it could have been done better.
When I get to doing my frame off restoration on the car I want to make sure the car is super straight and try to make sure it has no bondo for the most part. I guess what I am saying is, I want to make it as perfect as possible. Let me know if the sheetmetal skins will require filler to make the fit and be straight. Thanks again Brenden.

I think brenden meant that they should go on perfectly if your doors are good.. you may want to re-read his message http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif I'm certain that your doors will require a little filler regardless of which panels you use.. good luck..

What Normie talking about, is when you dolly/hammer the edges and tack weld the corners. you will most likly need a skim coat of filler. NO BIG DEAL.

Thanks for the follow-up responses. I am going to pick up a both sides. Never know what I might find good or bad. The doors seem to be fairly good shape for the most part. The car might become somewhat for the most part a garage queen when its done. But not to the point where I will want to haul it on a trailer because I would be to afraid to drive it or want to keep the bug juice off the front grill. If I don't use them and they look good I will store them. Thanks again.

Thanks again for the response. I did post a reply but it didn't seem to take. I am going to buy both sides. I won't know if I will use them until I get to the point of stripping etc. For the most part the doors are currently in fairly good shape. If I don't use them I will store them if they look fairly nice. Again I am just beening a pain in the butt and want to make this car extremely nice when finished. Not to say I am working some extra hours for these added parts etc. Thanks again all.

Rockyyyy,
Now wait a minute... You are right on the trailer queen stuff. A Lil Garage queenie... Hmmm yes I can see that happening. You know what I mean. Drive on those good summer days and open the garage door and check it out on those bad days.
