I have a 400 small block in my 70 Chevelle convertible. It tends to run hot and I am thinking of replacing the old 4 core radiator. I have heard of "Be Cool" radiators and was wondering if anyone can help me contact them or if anyone has any other ideas. Thanks!

I have an 11.00 to 1 406 and I can't keep it above 160 without cardboard on the front of the radiator. I have a pretty new stock 4 row radiator with the stock shroud ,stock water pump and a cheap plastic flex fan. The timing is at 38 degrees total as well. It seems like a new radiator would help out a lot but everything has to be in working order or you will have problems. I drilled 4 holes through my 180 Thermostat so that is why mine runs too cool but I got tired of stats sticking on me so I drilled some holes through it.

My 415 (stroked 400sb) ran around 200 all the time. I had a 3 row in it. Its very important to maintain the coolant system in these engines. Just a thought...you do have the heads with steamholes drilled? The 400 sb got a bad rap for being overheaters because people were puting 350 heads on them without the steam holes. What about an electric fan? IMO a 4 row should be doin the job.

Thanks guys. I do have an electric fan and it has helped a lot. I'm not sure about the steamholes but will find out. I'll also check the coolant fluids. It actually has never overheated but if it idles it will slowly creep up and will continue to do so until it would probably overheat. The radiator that I have now is really old and I think that it is time for a new 4 core. Thanks again.

I have a 600+ HP/TQ "502" with A/C and tranny cooler in front of the radiator and a 2nd tranny cooler built into the radiator. I can idle in traffic for an hour and not overheat. I had a local radiator shop convert my 4 row radiator into a five row radiator that uses the stock mount pads, shroud and stock clutch fan for about the same cost as a Griffin aluminum radiator. It looks absolutely stock and aids the stealth aspect of the motor with its "375 HP, 396 Turbo Jet" stickers and "396 SS" emblems in all the righ places.
