Has anyone used POR's epoxy product that is supposed to get as hard as steel? I've got a dime sized hole on my floor pan on the driver's side and was thinking about trying POR's product rather than cutting and welding.
Any experiences positive or negative?

I think the putty is intended for pinholes. But, you might be able to use it along with the fibermesh product they sell. Since it's such a small hole though, I think I'd just cut a small circle and weld in a small piece of metal.

This company sells small sheets just for this type of patch work. Or you could cut a small piece from a donor car in a wrecking yard. Try to find a wrecking yard near you that has older cars like ours and cut a small piece out of the floor. Even though you probably won't find one with a completely good floor pan, you should be able to find a large enough piece for what you need. This should be a simple repair.

I have used it with great sucess, I like it much better than any other por product that I have tried. I used it for some spots in the rear window channel and in the trunk of my 72. Easy to form dries hard as a rock, stays put in my experience. On the other hand, if the patch is in an excessable area, cut and weld. Just my .02

Thanks Randy and Professor_SS for your help. I'll be taking a trip to the yard to look for a good floorpan to cut a piece out of. I'm not a welder but I've got a friend who's pretty good at it so I'll give him a call.
