Sorry about my English, I'am from Sweden. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

What do you think about this car? I have come over one and it cost about $ 20000. Body VIN Nr is 1D67W2Bxxxxx. The cars is not in the top, but it looks damn good. This is what I know about the car. Engine is 454 with Holly 850 DP, HEI distributor, 350 Transmission, The Crane Cam is not orginal, Intake is from a 427 1969. Colour: 6 year old Porsche Red not the orgianl mulsanne blue metalic. Trim fabrics is one year old very nice and it is black. The convertible color is white and has some sctrach holes in it. But is does not leak. The chrome around the car is in very good shape. Center line Wheels don't know the dimension.

Does anybody know how many convertibles with 454 was built in 1972?

Fredrik,

Your English seems OK to me smile.gif

I believe the 'W' in the car's VIN signifies that it is a 454, so it is definitely an original SS454. Not sure how many convertibles were made, but I would guess less than 1,000. If it's a decent car and you can get it for $20K, it's probably a good buy.

BTW, I sold a bunch of parts to a guy in Sweden last year. He was very nice to deal with. He has a repair and parts business for US made cars, and he is a drag racer. Here is his web site http://www.uscenter.fi/e-index.html
Might be a good guy to get to know if it's not too far away from you.

How about that, another Frederick with a red 72 SS 454 convertible (my real name is Frederick).

W = 454 = SS, the real deal.

After messing with mine for eight months now, my only advice is to look EVERYWHERE for rust!

It actually has a TH350 transmission? Sure its not a TH400? If you can get the stamping numbers from the engine and post them you will be able to tell if its the original engine block. (Numbers stamped into the machined pad located on block, in front of the passenger side cylinder head.)

Hello again!

Thanks for the information.
The owner of the car says it is a Th 350 on it. My friend said it too. He saw it then we was crawling under the car. He just look at the tranmission pan. It's a TH 350 he said.

If anyone out were want to see some picture of the car. Check this page
