My dad has a 55 Post that is really nice. Has a 468 with a 700R4. Problem is it won't shift when it's supposed to. Seems like you have to get it up over 3000 to 3500 RPM's before it will shift from 1st to 2nd gear, even if your just cruisin'. Something isn' right. Does the TV cable need to be adjusted or what? Proper TV cable adjustment is critical ! You can tear up a 700r4 in minutes with the TV cable out of adjustment.
Do a search in transmissions on TV cable, or 700r4 adjustment.
Basically, it should be banjo string tight (Really tight) @ wide open throttle. The travel arc is also important.
