Is there a nice (easy) way to remove the speedometer cluster in a 1966 Chevelle.

Thank you
Amy

Amy,
This is a very easy job, you should remove the dash for easy access,First remove the screws around the underneath side of the dash, these are the one's that hold the dash pad on, then lower the column, it's a bracket underneath the column that holds it to the dash by two bolts, then remove the four bolts, two on each side underneath the dash by the top of the kick panel, when you do this have someone to help you, the dash will drop down, now you have access to the back of the dash to remove speedo cluster or any of the gauges, takes about ten minutes to drop dash.

So there is no need to remove the heater core? Isn't the heater box going to be in the way?

Thanks again,
Amy

No- the heater core and box can stay, the dash will drop down enough to remove just about anything that bolts to it.
A friend will be a big help holding the dash assy while loosing up the last couple bolts.
