Need some help. Have installed 454 in my 67 El Camino. I had planned to use the power steering pump off my small block. I ordered bracket RW1461 from Year One. Mounted the bracket and found there was no way the pump was going to work. The bracket hangs fairly low and interference with the steering box makes it impossible to put the pump in. Either the bracket is incorrect or using the small block pump is not possible. Any insight to this problem would be appreciated. Thanks

The pumps are different. SB vs BB I think the BB uses a remote reservoir.

Dave got it right.... 66=67 or for that mater 64 to 67 with a BB need to run a remote reservoir.. They re-pop the resevoir, it's the pump that's hard to come by...

The guys have gone the newer metric pump route.

We put PS. on both our 65 & 66 (both 454's)and we used all the brackets off a 70's 454 pickup. It won't be original but neither is the 454.

Was that using the short water pump?

No the long waterpump and it also locates the alternator on the right side. By the way its Bandy
