For anyone interested. I like it when people share pics of things they are working on. It keeps me motivated. I am repairing and modifying an elky frame to put under my 1970 wagon. I am using an elky frame because it is boxed and wagons were not. When I am finished I am having it dipped then spray POR-15 inside and brush it on the outside. The first thing I had to do was fix the rusted out area where the 2 bottom bolts of the steering box mount. Then I put gusset plates and welded little oval plates over the hole behind the front lower control arm rear mount. Frames commonly crack there so this is a little preventative measure. note: the frame is upside down in the pictures. I also welded stronger front sway bar mounts for my 1-3/8" bar. It would have most definitely pulled out of the stock threaded holes. Next I am going to fix rusted holes where the body bushings go and box the rear section of the frame. I will post those later.
