I dissassembled a steering arm knuckle - I noticed inside the knuckle it was filled with grease - has anyone ever reassembled these and if so what grease did you use inside the knuckle.
It seems to have the same consistincy as the grease used in a grease gun for tie rods, ball Joints etc, Wheel bearing grease seems thicker, just want to use the right grease when I asssemble it.

Hey Rich,
Maybe someone would respond to you question if you knew what to call that thing!!!!
Do I have to learn your some Chevelle Parts Grammer?????
That part is called an Intermediate Steering Column Coupler.
The grease goes in the part near the upper end of this Coupler.
Usually they are filled at the factory and good for the life of the vehicle.
You had to go and take the dam thing apart and lose all that original grease.
Now you'll have to search Ebay for some NOS Coupler Grease. What to do now?

No - I can scrape it off the paper towels in the garbage. tongue.gif
Well looks like a multi purpose grease - how about the grease from your hair? May be ok as well.
