: Battery terminal getting hot!

Just got the wiring harnessess and motor back in and when I get the motor running, the pos. battery terminal is getting hot. Some of the warning lights were a little dim when I hit the starter, but I think the starter went bad on me and now the lights are back to normal. Could a bad starter be the problem? Thanks

Most likely a bad ground. Check the ground cable at the battery and the motor, also make sure both battery terminals are free of corrosion. If you have those $2 parts store battery terminals like me, try reterminating them. I had one go bad in my dad's SS, the insulation on the ground cable was smoking.

The starter draws a lot of current and if you have a bad connection(high resistance) on either cable that connection(resistance) will get hot.

As above, carefully clean all terminals and connections.
Is it getting hot while cranking or after it is started and is running???
If while cranking, clean the terminals then go to a parts store that has a battery/starter analyzer and have them check the amp draw while cranking.
If during charging, it is a battery, regulator, or other charging problem.
