Just wondering if anyone visits the electrical forum, It seems like its hard to get an answer to a question there. But maybe I just ask difficult questions?

I've found that I am best at frying myself when workign around electrical. So outside of sizzling wires and getting a good shock I am of no help.

But if ya feel like hurting yourself or your car, send me an email and i'll see what I can do for you. ;)

Used to be you had to watch out about posting time. Most of us (I'm guessing) use the "Show topics from last day" option, and if you posted in the evening your post wouldn't show after midnight. I don't think it's this way now, Also, try to put in as much information as possible. There are some good (read SMART!) folks there, but they need to know as much as possible before helping out. Your post says you replaced the guage and column, but not much for details there. Did you switch from idiot lights to guages cluster? Did you follow the directions to change the pinouts for this swap? What steering column did you install? Did your turn signals work before the swap? Grounds are almost always the problem (my opinion only). You see where this can get really confusing, even to those who know what they're doing. The rest of us just ask for help...

Ron,

The other thing that I have done several times with success is post in the electrical area and if I don't get allot of response, I post in Chevelle tech 2003 something like "please see my problem in electrical" type of post.

There are definately the popular forums and the quite ones.

I have never had a problem with the electrical section the moderator John Muha answers a lot of questions plus member participation is very good.

I go there all the time, and I answer any questions that I can.

Unfortunately, I can't answer questions like "what's the blue wire for?" and other application specific questions.

Another unfortunate fact is that often the only answer I can give is "get yourself an inexpensive meter and start checking voltage".

I've found that I'm seldom any help with most posts there because I'm not reading the meter.

When people call me at work for tech support they can always tell me what they're reading at certain points on their equipment. From there I'm able to help them. The same holds true when I call for tech support. I have to be able to tell people what the readings are at certain points in the system.

It's just a cold, hard fact that electrical problems aren't easily solved over the internet. We're very lucky to have people like John Muha who are so skilled at it that they can overcome this and help more often than not. It's a rare talent and one that we should appreciate more.

Electrical for me is usually very simple. I only wish I could communicate it to other people. It's all just another method of getting energy from "point a" to "point b". No different from mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic. You have a power source and something that uses the power. The rest is just "plumbing".

I only wish I could answer electrical questions without further confusing people.

I know what you mean Chad. John has helped me fore and I'm very grateful for that. I know Elree Colby has been helpful too. I'm just frustrated because I cant fix this thing.

I've started spending more time there than I used to. It's an educational thing for me, just reading and trying to get a better understanding.

There's always the search function to help you with your problems too.

Ron Never been there. Been out seeing if I can hide from the Highway Patrol cruising 'cross the desert. It's a tad warm out there. If I remember right your last post did have 0 answers. However, someone did answer it in another forum so I (and others) went back to work.
Elree has been super swamped lately but others have been around.
