I JUST PURCHASED A REPO TACH FOR MY 66 AND I WANT TO PUT IT IN. IT SAYS ONE WIRE GOES TO A 12 VOLT FEED, ONE TO DASH LITE, AND THE OTHER TO THE NEGATIVE POST ON THE COIL. I HAVE A HEI GM DISTRIBUTOR. CAN I HOOK THIS TACH UP TO MY ENGINE? AND HOW?
THANKS BRAD

Hook it up like you stated,, but the wire that goes to the coil goes to the tach spade on the dist. (look at the top of the dist. it will be marked tac) you will have to put an end on it and slide it on,, no worrys works fine,,

THANKS I WILL HAVE TO CHECK MY WIRING, BECAUSE THAT IS THE WAY I TRIED IT AND IT DOESEN'T WORK. I WILL GO MAKE SURE THAT IS THE WAY I HAVE IT HOOKED UP AND TRY IT AGAIN.
THANKS BRAD

Make sure the tack is grounded to something, run a separate wire if you have to. Does the spade that plugs into the tack terminal have insulation on it? If so you may have it wedged between the case and the terminal and it isn't touching the terminal.

OK I have the tach working now, the tach sticks now. It will not move until I rev up to 2000 rmp's or higher then it will not come back down. If I tap on the side then it will move, something is binding in the tach. I am going to open it up in the morning and look at it.
Thanks Brad
