My daughter has a 1994 Buick Park Ave. The automatic trunk pull down won't work. I noticed that the motor is very hot. I unplugged the wiring harness to the motor and sprayed the motor with a little freon spray to cool it off. The motor heated back up right away WITHOUT being plugged in! Any ideas??? The trunk can not be closed right now. Thanks

The armature was prob smokin' hot and the freon spray just cooled the case. Sounds like it's coooked/seized. Did it blow the fuse? check for power and ground at the connector then go after the motor assembly next.

I took the assembly apart and I found that the black magnet that was inside the housing was all broken into pieces. I am very surprised that the fuse didn't blow. I was able to get it to the point where I could adjust the catch enough for the trunk to latch. It seems to work fine right now...stays latched and opens fine with the remote..you just have to close it like a regular trunk. Thanks for the reply.

Good thing you caught it.
